Is there Anybody Out There?

A talk by Dr. Rayna Freedman

Students in a 5th grade classroom are using digital tools to share their voice with the world through blogging and podcasting. Giving choice and voice provides students with an opportunity to reach a global audience, sharing their passions with the world. Students go through the writing process, working collaboratively and creatively with others. The ownership and pride students have when seeing their projects come to life is electric!

I will share how they blog and podcast, sharing with attendees how to make these projects come alive in their own classroom. Using tools like Blogger and Anchor will be shared, as well as how kids keep themselves safe online! Depending on time since I am still in school we could have students also participate with parent permission.

So as students ask if anyone is out there, we say YES! They have tons of listeners and data will be shared to show others how we promote and share our voices. Our classroom is global and we invite you to learn how to make this happen in your own classrooms!
